CURRENT 40 Highlights - 01022K8

- "Your Guardian Angel" is #1 for 7th straight week. This song is now tied with Pussycat Dolls' "Buttons" for most number of weeks spent at #1. Furthermore, this gives a huge boost for The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus in securing a higher position in the 2K7 yearend countdown.

- Cassie earns her 3rd consecutive Top 10 single with "Is It You", off the Step Up to the Street soundtrack. This part-Filipina singer has previously graced the CURRENT 40 with her 2K6 singles "Me & U" and "Long Way to Go".

- It seems like OPM is starting 2K8 with a bang as there are 6 local songs in this week's countdown. Urbandub enters the Top 10 for the 3rd time with "Guillotine", the first single from their latest offering Under the Southern Lights. 2 of the 3 new entries are from local artists as well: "Hanging out with You" by Wake Up Your Seatmate and "Last Look" by Chicosci.

- Blake Lewis follows his AI6 tormentor Jordin Sparks into the CURRENT 40 with "Break Anotha", the carrier single of Audio Day Dream.

- Rihanna and Fergie, among the biggest female artists of 2K7, have contrasting fortunes in this week's charts. Rihanna's 4th single "Don't Stop the Music" has previously cracked the Top 40 in September 2K7 and is once again gaining huge momentum, making it this week's biggest gainer. Meanwhile, Fergie's "Clumsy" slides out of Top 20 with the biggest position decline this week.
