CURRENT 40 Highlights - 01162K8

- Paramore crushes Ne-Yo's chances of taking over the pole position, at least for this week. Should "Go On Girl" overcome "Crushcrushcrush", Ne-Yo will now have 4 #1 singles, the most for any male artist that has made it in the CURRENT 40 chart since its inception 2 years ago.

- Mojofly earns their 2nd Top 10 single with "Simula". There are now 2 Top 10 OPM singles in this month alone, compared to 5 local songs in the whole of 2K7.

- Rihanna's "Don't Stop the Music" and Elliott Yamin's "One Word" gain 8 spots each to become the biggest gainers this week. Rihanna has the biggest gain for the 3rd consecutive week and so far has 6 Top 10 singles, the most for any female solo artist in this chart. Meanwhile, will.i.am's "The Donque Song" freefalls a dozen spots, the biggest drop this week.

- Chris Brown's "With You" barges inside the Top 20 in its 1st week in the CURRENT 40. Other debuts are Enrique Iglesias' "Somebody's Me", Jonas Brothers' "SOS" and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus' "Cat and Mouse". It is interesting to note that the latest single from The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus managed to make it inside the Top 40 with less than a week of initial radio airplay and with their record-tying charttopper "Your Guardian Angel" still inside the Top 3.
